Fan-shaped Chinese ink utensil 筆插. The fan-shaped Chinese ink utensil has three circular holes for holding the Chinese ink brush and a small container that can be used as water bowl for washing the brush. This piece was made in Guangdong Province. There were several kiln complexes in Guangdong Province during the Qing dynasty. Among them were potteries in the general vicinity of Guangzhou such as those at Shiwan and Foshan.
